Drummond Group-certified EHR systems for meaningful use

This tip lists certified EHR systems tested by the Drummond Group, one of several organizations that have received ONC approval to test and certify electronic health record software.

Hospitals and other eligible health care providers must use a certified electronic health record system in order...

to qualify for the EHR Incentive Program. The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act initially outlined this program, which was detailed further in the meaningful use final rule. These EHR systems must be certified by an Authorized Testing and Certification Body (ATCB), which in turn must be approved by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC).

The Drummond Group Inc. announced its first certified EHR systems on Sept. 30, exactly one month after it was named an ONC-ATCB. This tip, which will be updated periodically, lists the hospital and eligible provider products that CCHIT has tested and certified as capable of meeting Stage 1 of the meaningful use requirements. (Lists also are available for other recognized ONC-ATCBs -- the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology, or CCHIT, and coming soon, InfoGard Laboratories Inc.)
