Health care providers starting to invest in cloud services

Still emerging, cloud functions in health care won't be ignored. Respondents said their use of the cloud is increasing. Various types of providers are using it according to what best suits their needs. For small physician practices, this means hosting EHR systems in the cloud. For larger systems and hospitals with their own IT infrastructure, cloud operates more for data storage, information exchange, and compliance with HIPAA backup and disaster preparedness.
