The health care consumer (aka patient) as stakeholder
The patient will need to become a more active participant in his or her own care: He or she will need to be educated, will need to be responsible and accountable for participating in his or her own care, and new guidelines and bounderies regarding transparency of health records, will have to be established. This is a big paradigm shift in the delivery of care. Most of the news and reports address what is being done by and between providers. Can you describe the top 2 or three trends that address bringing the consumer/patient into the loop for coordination of care and ultimately, improved outcomes?

Answer Wiki:
The patient himself has to take care of their health and improve the health according to the advice of the doctor. It will be better if you share if you give a proper diet chart and also help in keeping the body healthy. wireless internet service providers by zip code I just finished writing a small post about the patient participating in the treatment selection and such. And It is a great question that you are discussing in this site. I think the patient should actively participate in her/his care. We are seeing more and more patients looking in search engines for more information about medical conditions. Unfortunately not all the information is scientifically based and accurate, which create some frustration with some physicians whenever they are being questioned about their treatment plan. Another trend we are seeing is that patients are sharing their condition and its progression online in different web sites. This is helping patients interact with others who have similar conditions and answers some of their questions. Another area that we are started to see more of is the fact that patients are ok with the idea to seek a second opinion. If I were diagnosed with a condition and I was not confident in the diagnosis, I should technically be able to send my PHR including lab results, Imaging to a physicians in a different city, state, or even country and get their professional opinion for a fee.
