What in your opinion is the best mobile device for hospitalists and emergency physicians to access EHR and/or PACS systems from within a hospital environment? Things concerning me are: -battery life and hot-swap ability -ability to be quickly and effectively steralized -ease of use -durability -loss prevention -processing power and speed of data transfer

I was very impressed with the user interface in the Nimble product. However, in all the demos I have seen, there is more emphasis on data review than data entry. Which is where most of the EHR challenges are, how to efficiently enter/capture visit data. Where would iPad compare to dictation/PCs in terms of data...

I have seen several surgery organizations using DVD players to educate the patients on certain procedures prior to the surgery. Has anyone seen those “old” dvd players replaced with iPads or other tablets? Can’t their functionality be extended and used to check-in patients and get certain forms filled electronically?
