How to measure patient satisfaction
In order to improve on something, you must be able to measure it, trend it, and analyze it. So far some of the entities do perform some sort of surveys that help with that for example Medicare contacting patients after discharge. But I was just courious to hear how others are currently getting this done...

Are DICOM vieweing stations overpriced or is it just me?
I have been a big fan of ClearCanvas (open-source RIS/PACS system), and I have not been able to understand the reason for the price tag on some of the commercial viewing stations. Even web viewers seem to be a little overpriced. Is there a reason for that?

Nimble but can it be used for data entry?
I was very impressed with the user interface in the Nimble product. However, in all the demos I have seen, there is more emphasis on data review than data entry. Which is where most of the EHR challenges are, how to efficiently enter/capture visit data. Where would iPad compare to dictation/PCs in terms of data...

The year 2014 the year of penalties and reimbursement cuts
As we continue to get close to 2014, it is clear for everyone that not participating into the ARRA with MU will bring penalties for lack of participating in PQRI, e Perscribing, ARRA. Unfortunately these will become more significant. Are the penalties significant enough to justify going forward with EMR?

I’ve been asking physicians to effectively “rate” their EHR systems. What’s interesting is that you’ll inevitably find one physician who loves a system while another physician hates that same system. Why do we see these extreme discrepancies?
