Adoption of mHealth by chronic disease
In the United States, which diseases have (or will have) the highest level of mHealth adoption? In other words, in which field of medicine are specialist providers adopting mHealth solutions in the greatest numbers? Or - slightly different way of asking the question - in which chronic disease field would mHealth solutions have the most value for providers? Thanks!

This is a great question. When I first read it, I started to wonder if we should look at the value from the patient's prespective or hte provider's side. Ofrouce clinicians need to have access to data about the patient's health which would assist them during the treatment and ensure the patient's well being, but then you want mhealth products that will reduce visits to the doctor by ghelping the patient maintain a healthly lifestyle. In my opinion the areas in general that will see the most value are: Cardiovascular, Diebetes, Oncology, Mental health, and general wellness programs.

The greatest opportunities are in the chronic conditions that place the biggest burden on the health care system. These include conditions like: chronic heart failure, diabetes, COPD, asthma, etc.

mHealth is empowering patients to improve their own disease self-management. That’s where mHealth will make a significant impact in chronic disease care.

Right now, diabetes is a really popular area where a number of mobile health apps are available. Other areas include smoking cessation, weight loss for those who are overweight and obese, and exercise/fitness/nutrition.
