The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) sometimes frustrate the stakeholders in health IT by being vague or even silent when it comes to clarifying the rules of their Electronic Health Records (EHR) Incentive Program and meaningful use. Now, however, the agency has opened the doors to an online EHR Incentive Program listserv that could alleviate some of that frustration.
Through the new listserv, CMS promises to:
- Keep eligible practitioners (EPs) informed of upcoming deadlines.
- Answer questions and concerns that CMS have gathered from EPs and eligible hospitals in the field.
- Circulate updates to keep program stakeholders informed of new developments.
- Notify subscribers of new FAQ documents it publishes pertaining to the EHR Incentive Program.
The listserv joins the CMS EHR Incentive Program landing page as the best source of official information for the Medicare side of the federal government’s health IT infrastructure construction campaign.
