MHealth program reaches out to pregnant women, substance abusers

Date: Nov 09, 2010

The Center for Connected Health, part of the Boston-based Partners HealthCare System, has completed a trial mobile health, or mHealth, program with the Lynn Community Health Center in Massachusetts for pregnant women and substance abusers, in which participants signed up to receive text messages reminding them of appointments, care practices and other news.

In this video, the center's mHealth strategist, Robert Havasy, talks about the text messaging program, its results and next steps, at the mHealth Summit in Washington, D.C. The program was made possible through funding from the Verizon Foundation and Partners HealthCare Community Benefits.
