Answer Wiki:
Windows Phone 7 is a very interesting platform. It is offering a lot of flexibility for software developers. The platform will allow software developers that have written applications using XNA (gaming development platform) or Silverlight will be able to use the application in the phone with very little modification. This is very different from the approach that iOS, Android and BlackBerry have taken. You would need to learn a whole new way of programming to get products on those platforms. But with that being said, Windows Phone 7 has not offered major differentiators from the other platforms, so unless there are some incredible reasons why anyone would consider WP7, then it would be very difficult to see them dominate the market.
