Opensource EHR CPRS or Vist-A in the private practice
ehr, EMR, VA
Opensource products has been used in healthcare for many years now.  Many of which deployed at hospitals wich one has accomplished HIMSS Stage 7 and others use it to exchange data across federal, state and private entities such as the NHIN.

The question that I would like to get input on is: Has anyone seen Vist-A used in a private setting, and has been a successful EHR implementation?

Software/Hardware used:
Vist-A

Answer Wiki:
I have come across few companies, who claim they have implemented Vist-A on several hospitals as well as 5-10 member physician's office. There are several companies who work on open source EMRs from last 10 years. And I have seen at least 5-7 different flavors of Vist-A. Similar to Linux and its flavors, Redhat being the major vendor, Vist-A has a flavor - Open Vista being developed by Medsphere Systems Corporation. There are serveral vendors in US, who implement this flavor (Open Vista) of Vist-A and the implementations are pretty successful.
