I admit that I was quite surprised to see this from Google. Unfortunately, it appears to me that Google did not have the opportunity to develop a robust strategy around Google Health. At the end of the day, payors (health insurance plans) really want to see how PHRs will improve patient care. They want to see data and changes in patient metrics. If Google had developed a robust strategy that would accomplish this, they would not be shutting down Google Health.
