The “10 Things You Need to Know About Accountable Care” report

The Institute for Health Technology Transformation is pleased this week to announce the release of their “10 Things You Need to Know About Accountable Care” report, a synthesis of what leading health care execs from across the country believe to be the keys to understanding accountable care organizations, along with six recommendations for providers interested in applying for ACO status.
The report begins by describing the current ACO model and dives into the three different structural frameworks. The report addresses the characteristics of an ideal ACO model, and also highlights the overall importance of technology and how any organization looking to become an ACO must accurately assess its current IT capabilities and what IT assets will be required to realize shared savings.
