MHealth Alliance is non-profit organization hosted by the United Nations Foundation that focuses
on advancing mHealth
technology in global health care through policy research, advocacy and outreach.
The mHealth Alliance was created following an mHealth conference in Bellagio, Italy in July 2008
with the intention of maximizing mobile health growth in developing countries. The organization’s
goals include creating accessible online communities, facilitating partnerships with other
organizations and promoting the framework necessary for mHealth to impact global health, all with a
focus on maternal and childhood health through their maternal mHealth initiative (MMI).
