American Telemedicine Association (ATA)
American Telemedicine Association (ATA) is a non-profit organization that strives to promote telemedicine (medical care
delivered through the use of telecommunications technology).
Established in 1993, the ATA’s goals include educating providers about the use of telemedicine,
providing a group for networking within the telemedicine community, promoting new research in the
telemedicine field and developing standards and policies for the telemedicine industry. Membership
in the ATA includes individuals, companies and other health care organizations.
The ATA hosts an annual international meeting and tradeshow for its members. The yearly
summit is the largest telemedicine and telehealth conference in the world, attracting experts and
vendors from the United States and nearly 50 other countries.
